THE GROCERY LIST

This is a list I came up with, per two week basis, of what fruits and vegetables I like to have on hand at any given time. 

Here are great things to consider:

* = please buy organic

In the fridge:

  • Carrots*
  • Tuscan kale*
  • Arugula
  • Baby spinach*
  • Broccoli*
  • Hummus
  • Lemons
  • Limes
  • Eggs (free-range, organic)*
  • Goat's cheese
  • Yogurt (greek, icelandic, grass-fed dairy only)
  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries
  • Mandarins
  • Plums
  • Bell peppers*
  • Wild mushrooms
  • Green Beans
  • Onions*
  • Shallots*
  • Strawberries*
  • Lemon ginger echinacea juice (from TJ's)
  • Coconut water (not from concentrate)
  • Cucumber*
  • Celery*
  • Almond butter
  • Cashew butter
  • Goji berries
  • Sauerkraut

In the pantry:

  • Chia Seeds
  • Tomato paste*
  • Tomato sauces (love Trader Joe's)*
  • Brown rice pasta*
  • Raw & unsalted: almonds, walnuts, pistachios
  • Tea: green, white, peppermint*
  • Cacao nibs or dark chocolate
  • Tortilla/quinoa chips (I love "Late July" organic brand-- such fun flavors)*
  • Popcorn, kettle corn*
  • Hemp seed oil
  • Flaxseed oil
  • Hazelnuts
  • Quinoa
  • Wild rice
  • Lentils
  • Beans (I like organic kidney beans)

On the counter:

  • Avocado
  • Tomatoes*
  • Apples*
  • Kiwi
  • Bananas
  • Garlic

For cooking:

  • Olive oil
  • Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
  • Sea salt
  • Herbs: basil, thyme, oregano, dill, rosemary, mint
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Crushed red pepper flakes
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Vanilla extract

For baking:

  • Honey
  • Pure maple syrup
  • Brown rice flour
  • Gluten-free oats
  • Coconut sugar
  • Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
  • Cocoa powder (unsweetened, Varlhona is the best)
  • Pine nuts
  • Pumpkin seeds

In your freezer:

  • Organic meat: chicken, turkey (free-range, grass fed, local only)*
  • Frozen organic fruits (raspberries, wild blueberries, strawberries, blackberries)
  • Cold water fish (wild salmon, sole, halibut)
  • Coconut sorbet (Sharon's is the best)
  • Macarons
  • Forte brand high protein Gelato
