This is a list I came up with, per two week basis, of what fruits and vegetables I like to have on hand at any given time. 

Here are great things to consider:

* = buy organic

In the fridge:

  • Carrots*

  • Tuscan kale*

  • Arugula

  • Baby spinach*

  • Broccoli*

  • Hummus

  • Lemons

  • Limes

  • Eggs (free-range, organic)*

  • Goat's cheese

  • Yogurt (greek, icelandic, grass-fed dairy only)

  • Blueberries

  • Raspberries

  • Mandarins

  • Plums

  • Bell peppers*

  • Wild mushrooms

  • Green Beans

  • Onions*

  • Shallots*

  • Strawberries*

  • Lemon ginger echinacea juice (from TJ's)

  • Coconut water (not from concentrate)

  • Cucumber*

  • Celery*

  • Almond butter

  • Cashew butter

  • Goji berries

  • Sauerkraut

In the pantry:

  • Chia Seeds

  • Tomato paste*

  • Tomato sauces (love Trader Joe's)*

  • Brown rice pasta*

  • Raw & unsalted: almonds, walnuts, pistachios

  • Tea: green, white, peppermint*

  • Cacao nibs or dark chocolate

  • Tortilla/quinoa chips (I love "Late July" organic brand-- such fun flavors)*

  • Popcorn, kettle corn*

  • Hemp seed oil

  • Flaxseed oil

  • Hazelnuts

  • Quinoa

  • Wild rice

  • Lentils

  • Beans (I like organic kidney beans)

On the counter:

  • Avocado

  • Tomatoes*

  • Apples*

  • Kiwi

  • Bananas

  • Garlic

For cooking:

  • Olive oil

  • Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

  • Sea salt

  • Herbs: basil, thyme, oregano, dill, rosemary, mint

  • Cayenne pepper

  • Crushed red pepper flakes

  • Balsamic vinegar

  • Vanilla extract

For baking:

  • Honey

  • Pure maple syrup

  • Brown rice flour

  • Gluten-free oats

  • Coconut sugar

  • Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

  • Cocoa powder (unsweetened, Varlhona is the best)

  • Pine nuts

  • Pumpkin seeds

In your freezer:

  • Organic meat: chicken, turkey (free-range, grass fed, local only)*

  • Frozen organic fruits (raspberries, wild blueberries, strawberries, blackberries)

  • Cold water fish (wild salmon, sole, halibut)

  • Coconut sorbet (Sharon's is the best)

  • Macarons

  • Forte brand high protein Gelato


  1. Kiehl's-- the BEST moisturizers, face creams, colored hair shampoo/conditioner

  2. Jafra- Royal Jelly Milk Balm (for the face)

  3. Acure - soaps and shampoos

  4. Trader Joe’s Hair Mask (works so well!)

  5. La Roche Possay (facial cleanser), smells heavenly, very mild on skin, works wonders

  6. Zuzu Luxe/Gabriel Cosmetics- non-toxic, gluten-free makeup; great lipstick colors

  7. Butter London nail polish

  8. Julep nail polish and freedom top coat

  9. Tarte makeup--great pressed powder foundation and eyeliner

  10. Pixi makeup-- best mascara and tinted lipbalm

  11. Homemade scrub: raw honey + brown sugar. Nothing beats natural!



    1. Natural by Nature (top-rated organic dairy)

    2. Cowgirl Creamery- delicious creme fraiche!

    3. Stoneyfield Farms- yogurt, great philosophy and quality brand

    4. Siggi's- yummy Icelandic style yogurt

    5. Noosa-- honey flavor is so delish... creamy Australian style yoghurt

    Gluten-free grains:

    1. MarysGoneCrackers- vegan, gluten-free, organic, delicious crackers

    2. Amy's Organic- awesome soups

    3. Two Moms in the Raw- delicious gluten-free bars, granola

    4. Purely Elizabeth- granola


    1. That's It-- two-ingredient dried fruit bars with lots of flavor and no added sugar

    2. RX Bars (favorite kind is mint chocolate) high protein, no added sugar

    3. Perfect Bars (high protein, favorite kind is chocolate chip peanut butter)


    1. Applegate Farms (meats)- delicious turkey, etc- hormone free, antibiotic free, humanely raised

    2. Local! (as in, go to a local butcher's shop or farmer's market...because it's better for you!)

    Chocolate: (yes it deserves its own category)

    1. Lake Champlain Chocolates (my favorite chocolate of all time), noteworthy: Rum Dark Chocolate bar, Milk Chocolate Caramel

    2. Green and Black's- really yummy organic sweet treats-- high cacao milk chocolate almond bar is a fave

    3. LiLac Chocolates - in Grand Central Station, NYC

    4. La Maison du Chocolat get the orange slices- best I've ever had

    5. Mast Brothers (if you're into dark) - their factory is in Williamsburg, Brooklyn - fun place to visit!

    6. Justin's- delicious almond butter cups
