The final Harry Potter book was definitely one of the greatest books I have ever read, a great ending to a wonderful series. I simply can't understand how anyone can dislike Harry Potter! Tonight, in preparation for the final movie's midnight showing tomorrow night, my sister, a couple of friends, and I made a delicious cake in preparation for our pre-Potter party tomorrow! (It was delicious looking, I am not allowed to taste it on my challenge). Here are some pictures! Side note, if I wasn't on this challenge I would definitely try this delicious cake even though it isn't very nutritious, everything in moderation! The recipe for the chocolate cake is "Layered Chocolate Cake" recipe ala How to Cook Everything. The recipe for the frosting is Vanilla Buttercream Frosting recipe two pages after that. And For the Chocolate frosting I just added a bunch of sifted cocoa powder to the vanilla frosting and added two tablespoons of heavy cream. Play with the consistency, sometimes it turns out too dry so just keep adding tablespoons of cream until it is what you want. Start out with 4 cups confectioners sugar, 1 stick of butter, 2 tsp vanilla extract, 6 tbs heavy cream though. Separate the buttercream frosting into small batches so you can change the colors later. I added sliced almonds for the wings, slivered almonds as a border, and chocolate chips. I'm definitely going to slice a piece and freeze it so I can eat it after the challenge!
Happy Harry Potter Final Movie!!!! <3 Hedwig
